Looking to the weekend

The Blues travel to Carrow Road tomorrow to face a Norwich side that have exceeded everyone’s expectations so far this season.

The Premier League new boys face Andre Villas-Boas’ men on the back of a victory against West Brom last weekend. However, The Blues are not short in confidence themselves as they look to maintain their five game run without defeat – the last being that controversial game against Queens Park Rangers on 23 October.

The match will be the second of three meetings between various Chelsea and Norwich sides at Carrow Road in recent weeks, following our win in the FA Youth Cup last week, tomorrow’s meeting, and a Premier League reserve clash which is scheduled for next Tuesday.

The early kickoff tomorrow, 12:45, will give us Blues a chance to deduct the margin at the top of the table. Not only will the club be interested in their own affairs tomorrow but also the next day’s matches.

Super Sunday consists of two top of the table encounters which could give a massive indication on who will be challenging come May. Manchester City face a Tottenham side who are looking as title contenders. Both teams will be looking to show their capable of cementing a serious challenge by winning the match at The City Of Manchester Stadium. The later kickoff sees Manchester United travel to the Emirates; the home of Arsenal. The Gunners are currently four points behind us Blues but should they win it would see the gap between Chelsea and Manchester United being chopped to only five points, assuming a Blues victory tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has confirmed he will not be exiting Stamford Bridge, well at least not in this current transfer window. Drogba’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and rumours have been circulating that the Ivory Coast man could exit the club this month. However, Drogba told France Football Magazine: “I would like to find again more fun, shivers, fervour, pressure and passion on the pitch.

“That makes fun in our job and I have missed a little for the last months.

“Does it mean departure from Chelsea? Not before next June.”

The striker reportedly wishes for a new two-year-contract but the offer from the club is rumoured to only be a twelve month extension.
