Marko Marin to Sevilla

Chelsea today announced, on the official site, that an agreement was reached with Sevilla over a season long loan deal with German winger Marko Marin.

After arriving from Werder Bremen last summer in a deal reported to be around £7 million, Marin scored on his debut against Seattle Sounders in the pre-season tour of America but a hamstring rul

ed him out until September. When he returned to fitness, the German international couldn’t force his way into the first team, with Mata, Oscar, Hazard and Moses all above him in the pecking order for a place in the attacking trio usually deployed behind the main striker.

Once dubbed the “German Messi” by sections of the German media during his time at Werder Bremen, the 24 year olds future at Chelsea came into the doubt when fellow German Andre Schurrle arrived at the club from Bayer Leverkusen, and will now be filled with task of replacing Jesus Navas at Sevilla, who has joined Manchester City.
